Conventional Brake System Service
This system consists of pads, shoes, rotors, drums, calipers, wheel cylinders, master cylinders, lines and hoses, and parking brakes. All of these parts are subject to wear and will require periodic servicing and/or replacement. If any of these components are compromised or worn beyond the reasonable degree, your Honda, Toyota, Lexus or Acura may not stop as fast as necessary, which puts your life at risk. If you notice that it takes you longer to stop than usual, or you hear noises coming from the wheels, bring your car to our Davidsonville, MD auto repair shop for brake system service.
Anti-Lock Brake System Service (ABS)
This system consists of wheel speed sensors, pump, accumulator, modulator, lines, and an ABS/TCS control unit. The purpose of this system is to aid you in stopping on slick surfaces or in panic situations. If the ABS and/or Traction Control lights are on, these systems are inoperative and will NOT activate when needed. It is important that if you are seeing these issues you bring your vehicle directly to your Davidsonville, MD brake service center.
Stability Assist System
The vehicle stability assist system (VSA) also uses the anti-lock system, as well as other sensors to evaluate the vehicle’s “attitude” and help prevent a rollover situation. Keep an eye on the indicator lights to know if there is a systems failure that needs attention and to ensure the systems are operational when they are needed. The VSA indicator depicts a car on a slippery road. It will blink when the system is engaged, but if it stays on, this means you may have an issue.
